Business Blog or Bust

Remember the days when we used the newspaper as a directory for local services? You’d peruse column after column until an ad finally caught your eye. Then, in a leap of faith you would call them, hoping you found the right man (or woman) for the job. Sadly those days are long gone. The current world of social media makes a newspaper look archaic at best. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the feel, smell, and nostalgia of reading the Sunday paper, but frankly speaking, it’s not where I search for a business.

As a business owner, you need an online presence to reach prospective customers. But how do you stand out in such a giant market? The answer my friend, is a blog.

A business blog will help build authority in your industry, push your website higher in search engine results, and humanize your brand. They’re finally here – hashtags on Facebook. I say finally, because for months, many people (myself included), were annoyed by the hashtag overuse on Facebook. At that point, hashtags did absolutely nothing to help your brand. Folks just assumed that since hashtags worked on other social media platforms, they must work on Facebook too.
